マネージャーへの8つの提言

The Economist誌の1月4日号からいつもとは違った毛色の記事を紹介します。

詳細は割愛しますが、マネージャーへの8つの（新年の）提言として以下が示されています。

1. 部下を褒める。
2. あなたが雰囲気を作っていることを忘れないように。　
3. 責任を取る。
4. 優先順位を明確にする。
5. 平易な言葉を使う。
6. 部下の意見も聴く。
7. 会議を短くする。
8. チームビルディング研修はやめる。

中でも個人的には 3が最も心に響きましたので、全文を引用します。常に忘れないようにしていきたいです。

The buck also stops with you. If a team member makes a mistake, it needs to be fixed. And the manager is responsible for making that happen. It may well be that the mistake stems from inadequate instructions or giving the task to the wrong person. So the manager, as well as the staff member, needs to learn a lesson from the failure.
